About

We are a 501c3 youth education and community capacity building organization in Willimantic. We offer youth career development programs, a teen center, and our Idea Forge Creators Space hosting a variety of creative and maker workstations, small business services, and small business incubation.

Since 2020, Project Imo has provided over $614,000 worth of free or low cost programs for youth and community members through grants, fundraising, and volunteer match. Our educational programs have served over 1634 youth over 9299 learning hours, including our keystone Youth Promise Career Development Pathways program. Our teen center has seen over 600 youth check-ins during the first 18 months of operations and 305 total center hours. Our Idea Forge Creator Space launched in 2024 and offered 19 maker space programs and raised over $15,000.00 in maker funding. 

In 2025 the Idea Forge is expanding to community and small business memberships to empower emerging entrepreneurs through powerful maker space workstations, business services, and workshops to build a community of networked businesses operating alongside each other.
